Birmingham Business Journal as “Best of the Bar”

The Birmingham Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar” recognizes Birmingham attorneys in specific practice areas for excellence in their field. This honor involved the entire Birmingham legal community, with more than 6,000 area attorneys nominating, selecting and honoring the best among their peers.


Rebecca Wright Pritchett — Specialty for which nominated: Environmental

Rebecca Wright Pritchett practices in the areas of environmental and natural resources law, administrative law, legislation & governmental affairs, real estate law, public utilities law, and oil and gas law. Ms. Pritchett was selected by Governor Bob Riley to serve on the Alabama Oil & Gas Board, the regulatory body overseeing the exploration and production of oil and gas resources within the State of Alabama. Ms. Pritchett was elected to serve as the first female President of the Alabama Wildlife Federation. She is a member of the President’s Advisory Council of the Fresh Water Land Trust (formerly the Black Warrior/Cahaba Rivers Land Trust), and is a registered state lobbyist. Ms. Pritchett assisted with the drafting of and successfully lobbied for the passage of state legislation allowing for the profitable redevelopment of contaminated property (“brownfields”), thus allowing developers to clean up and redevelop otherwise unusable property at a profit with limited liability. She was recently chosen by the Birmingham Business Journal as one of the Birmingham area’s “Top 40 Under 40” for 2005.
